The Minister of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation, Lindiwe Sisulu, has visited the Sky City Housing Development to check on houses being offered to the middle income earners and interact with the beneficiaries. This is a category of people who can neither qualify for the fully subsidized government housing (RDP) nor bank bonded housing.
Towards the end of last month Sisulu called on the first time home or property buyers to apply for Finance Linked Individual Subsidy Programme (FLISP) provided by Government to encourage home ownership for those who earn between R3501 – R22.000.
Sky City Housing Development
This government financial assistance for the middle-income earners can be used as a deposit or reduce the bond balance. The Sky City Housing Development is one of the projects around the country which also cater for the middle income earners. The project has currently delivered over 4000 housing units with close to 500 of which partly funded by government.
